Sandy Brock- President A resilient, motivated woman with an entrepreneurial spirit, Sandy Brock pioneered the packaging industry when she started First Class Packaging in 1987 as a single mother with a credit card and small savings. Sandy, President & CEO of First Class Packaging, revolutionized the packaging industry by having her business focus less on packaging materials and more on providing excellent customer service and developing unique solutions to people’s real problems. These accomplishments have resulted in many local and national awards, feature on San Diego’s KUSI Morning News and a profile in SBA’S Business Success Magazine. A San Diego native and avid philanthropist, Sandy is a member of many organizations such as the local YMCA, Disabled Businessperson’s Association, NWOBC, NDIA and the California Chamber of Commerce. Sandy’s passion for business and her employees are only rivaled by her love for chocolate and authentic Spanish cuisine. Sandy is a true champion for working women and people with disabilities.

Denise Austin- Office Manager Honest and hardworking, Denise is the lifeblood of First Class Packaging. As Office Manager, Denise wears “many hats” when maintaining the daily operations of the business including payroll, accounting, administrative and much more. Having amazing multi-tasking abilities, Denise is the glue that keeps the office together allowing First Class Packaging to effectively service their clients and provide quality products. With over 9 years of administrative and office management experience, Denise continues to maintain a healthy and fun environment for all of FCP’s employees. When Denise is not in the office she enjoys traveling the coast of California with her husband and simply relaxing with a warm cup of coffee.

Tona Ashford- Plant Manager A jack of all trades, Tona is a leader, artisan, electrician, adventure seeker and business woman. With a passion for machinery and the creation of something out of nothing, Tona began her industry career as an Interior Communications Electrician for the United States Navy where she learned invaluable trade and leadership skills. After her Navy career, Tona worked for a local turbine manufacturer as their Operations Manager. Tona has gained over 15 years of metal fabrication and operations management experience. Before joining the FCP team, Tona opened her own motor sports store in Yuma, AZ and also test drove military equipment. Innovative, creative and highly motivated to achieve the impossible, Tona now brings her diverse experience and leadership skills to First Class Packaging as Plant Manager.

Ken Brock- Senior Design Engineer A mixture of left brain/right brain, Ken combines extensive product knowledge and creativity to develop strategic packaging solutions that continually exceeds customer expectations. As a lead packaging designer, Ken brings over 14 years of design/estimating and customer service experience. Understanding industry trends, products, and technology, Ken provides comprehensive customer service from inception to completion. Operating the latest computer software and fabrication equipment, Ken can sculpt a piece of foam to adjoin any size item for a perfect fit every time. Light-hearted and comedic, Ken understands the importance of laughter in the workplace.

Jason Valentine- Design/Estimating A visionary, Jason is able to take a simple sketch of any product and turn it into a workable piece of art. Half engineer and half artist, Jason is a knowledgeable component of First Class Packaging’s Design and Estimating Department. Jason’s industry experience is comprehensive. Beginning with sweeping the warehouse floor and assembling foam inserts, Jason has moved up the “corporate ladder” doing everything from fabricating and crating to administrative reading, eventually leading him to his true passion of design/estimating. His genuine enthusiasm for the industry and for helping people, allows Jason to empathize with his customers packaging problems and then provide them with turnkey solutions.  A self-proclaimed “cool guy”, Jason enjoys drawing, computer design and most of all spending time with his beloved daughter.

Roy Tovar- Account Manager Competitive yet altruistic, Roy brings enthusiasm and understanding to the First Class Packaging sales team and their efforts in providing clients with exceptional service and unique packaging ideas. As the Account Manager for Commercial Sales, Roy is a true leader with over 20 years of combined customer service, sales and sales management experience. With extensive product knowledge and creative thought processes, he excels in matching the perfect First Class Packaging product and service with even the most unique product. An avid sports fan and family man, Roy enjoys spending his weekend afternoons channeling the great quarterback, Joe Montana, while throwing the pigskin around with his kids.

Maurice Smith- Director of Sales and Business Development A natural leader and sales guru, Maurice Smith may be known as Director of Sales and Business Development by the First Class Packaging team, but on the Junior All-American youth football field they just call him “Coach.”  A passionate businessman with 20 years of experience at Pelican Cases, a global manufacturer of cases, shipping containers and lighting, Maurice brings his driven, entrepreneurial spirit and business-savvy to help First Class Packaging provide the best quality products, customer service and innovative packaging solutions in the industry. Maurice’s client-centric approach to sales continually puts customers and the improvement of their businesses’ bottom line first. Whether he is commanding his team on the field or in the office, Maurice’s industry expertise and proven experience are vital resources to First Class Packaging’s mission to provide excellent customer service with a “Let’s Make It Work” attitude.
